Resident Evil 5:Retribution Review
Yesterday at Cineplex Yorkdale I saw the latest installment in the Resident Evil film franchise.
Rating 7.5 /10 Stars
What I liked :I loved the way the film opened having the sequence of events be reversed. The way they did it was fantastic and it was shot extremely well. The whole film was well shot. I loved the scene between Alice and the horde of zombies in the Umbrella facility where she fights with a bike chain. That was well planned out stunt wise and looked fantastic on screen.
Fan service Leon and Ada Wong: Though Leon Kennedy did not look how I would imagine him to look in a live action scene Ada looked the part perfectly! The little fan service spot in the helicopter where we see Leon put his hand on Ada's thigh paid homage to their relationship in the game.
Ada Wong: FINALLY we see Ada in real life ! I have to admit the actor portraying her did a fantastic job and made fighting in a dress look easy.
Recap of first four films : I liked the little recap we had of the first four films it refreshed viewers memories of the plot and connected it very nicely.
What I didn't like:
Wesker: We hardly see him at all and when we do I don't buy him as the total evil bad ass he is in the games. I don't buy him as Wesker at all...
Jill Valentine : Seeing Jill in her blue suit,blonde hair and red scarab control device was awesome and looked great on screen but again I didn't buy her performance at all it seemed cheesy at times.
Clones: The clone aspect was a total confusing aspect to grasp in terms of the story line. Seeing two "Rain's" was extremely confusing and I found myself feeling lost at times.
Ending: Catching up with Wesker and co at the end in the "White House" no doubt just didn't make that much sense. Also giving back Alice her powers after taking them away in the previous film just seemed like a sloppy ending. I mean yes we see that the world is in total chaos and those who are left have to fight but still I was just left slightly disapointed.
Overall I enjoyed and I know the ending leaves interpretation for a 6th film (which I am sure is on it's way next year) Many will probably disagree with me and say this is the worst one in the series but I think it was done quite well.
Next film to review :TBA

The movie franchise based on the hit video game of the same name hit theaters earlier this month topping the box office and adding a lot more excitement and of course zombie action. Alice is back and so are some of her old "friends". I can't wait to see this movie tomorrow and will be back with a full review later on in the evening.
Also planned for the coming month I will be reviewing the best and worst Halloween/ "Scary" Movie
Sorry for the lack of posts but I will get this blog up and running again with a few new tricks up my sleeve :)

AUDIO INTERVIEW TEXT : TOY STORY DOUBLE FEATURE

TOY STORY 1+2 : INTERVIEW WITH CLARE AFTER FILM
FC= Flick Chick a.k.a Tarah
C=Clare
FC: Hey everyone is FlickChick here aka Tarah with my first interview for the blog .
We just got out of the Toy Story Double Feature and I’m here with my friend Clare and now we’re gonna hear from her and see what she thought of the movie .
C: Well I thought both movies were good ,I liked the second one better and I saw a lot of stuff I didnt remember from watching it before and it was good to watch it again and I think i might see the 3rd one so it was good to see those 2 beforehand so I really enjoyed it.
FC: What about the intermission , the 10 min intermission with the trivia and the deleted scene and the early footage that showed you a look at early versions of Buzz and Woody ,what do you think?
C: I thought that was really interesting ,the 10 min intermission I thought was a good idea because a lot of people needed to move around before sitting down for the next movie.I thought it kept the kids entertained cause not too many kids were running around and screaming during the intermission. It was kind of interesting to see the little film clips of the older versions.
FC: When you saw the Toy Story 3 trailer what did you think , do think its gonna be popular? Or does Disney maybe need to stop making sequels?
C: (laughing) Well I think its kind of much to make a 3rd movie but as long as people are interested and if they remember the first 2 and they liked them then I think people will come to see the 3rd one.
FC: Thats good , do you have a favorite part of the film you’d like to share with our site viewers?
C: I like the part in the second movie um where Woody is trying to get off the plane with his new friend , um i forget her name ( FC: Jessie ) , Ya Jessie it was kind of like a western they were jumping all over the place and he used his little string as a lasso thought that was kind of neat .
FC: Lets talk about the animation now , do you think it was better in 3D or was better when it originally came out?
C:I liked it in 3D. I thought it was kind of clear and better in someways.
FC: Thanks , now before we go is there anything else you want to say about the movie to people thinking about going and seeing it? Just a general thought about the whole experience.
C: I thought it was really good idea to do a double feature Because its interesting see them back to back and see how the story carries on. Some stuff they used from the 1st movie they used in the 2nd like the pizza truck , that was funny.
FC: So you saw a lot of simmiliatries between the 1st one and the 2nd one you noticed , with certain things in the background such as you said the pizza truck.
C: Yeah , If you see 2nd one you should definately see the first one .
FC: Thanks for your time Clare , thats all for now but i;ll be back with another review soon and another interview . So keep checking back on the site and thanks for viewing FlickChick , this is FlickChick singing off !
